2009 booklist

(Yes, I enjoy being occasionally pretentious odd.)  :)

I love to read.  Probably more than I should.  I had devoured all of the books that our home and library had to offer by the time I was ten.  Oftentimes, I’m reading multiple books at a time.  I thought I would follow a few others’ examples, and include a list of books that I’ve read/am reading each month.

Please feel free to comment; I love having feedback!  Usually I go on and on in real life about whatever book holds my current obsession, so I guess you’ll get it here.

January:

Planet Narnia, by Michael Ward
The Deception of the Emerald Ring, by Lauren Willig
The Loch, by Steve Alten
He’s Just Not That Into You, by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo

February:

Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire, by Amanda Foreman
Twilight, by Stephanie Meyer
Confessions of a Shopaholic, by Sophie Kinsella  (my ex-roomie has been badgering me endlessly)

March:

Twilight, by Stephanie Meyer (stilllll haven’t finished it)

April/May/June/July:

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, by J.K. Rowling
The Time Traveler’s Wife, by Audrey Niffenegger
Sphere, by Michael Crichton
Silent in the Grave, by Deanna Raybourn
Silent in the Sanctuary, by Deanna Raybourn (the book itself is made of awesome.  just holding it makes me feel happy.  I don’t expect you to understand.)
and…
about a million London guidebooks
two forgettable CSI-type murder-mysteries that I read while dying in England.
[I gave up on Twilight.  My boyfriend would kick Edward's ass.  It's boring.]

August/September/October:

Silent on the Moor, by Deanna Raybourn (what, the protagonist is fun!)

November:

Twilight.  Finally.
The Vampire Diaries.  (I know.  They got me.)
about a thousand children’s books to my niece that she then promptly lost in her house, forcing me to pay scads in overdues.  the joys of living on the other side of the desk.

Books to (still) Read Next:

Rebecca, by Daphne du Maurier
Water for Elephants, by Sara Gruen
Orthodoxy, by G.K. Chesterton (I know, I’ve never read it!  My poor lapsed-Catholic father would be ashamed.)
Love in the Time of Cholera, by Gabriel García Márquez (I’m still not sure if I want to… it looks depressing)

Also, I love taking suggestions, so feel free to add any; I’ll add it to my List To Read.
